Interview three: Mack

This interview is a little bit different! It'll be about how celebrities are treated in the music industry! 

Question One: What’s your name, age, and favorite band? 
My name is Mack, I am 14 years old, and I frequently listen to LANY, Zayn, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Hozier. 

Question Two: What interests you about the music industry?
The way artists’ management and promotion gets them to the top and helps them become a household name.    

Question Three: Would you ever consider working in the music industry? Why or why not?
I definitely would because the industry interests me and I would want to put a positive effect of an artists thought of signing to a management. 

Question Four: Do you think celebrities are treated well? Elaborate! 
Some can be treated very well, but most are very controlled by their contract they signed with their management company. The owners of management companies reak the benefits of their artists success, and in doing so, some companies don’t let their signed artist be honest to the public about who they really are. Sam Smith, for example, was assigned a fake girlfriend during their debut album release, but years later they came out as gay. The management team thought that coming out to the public would lessen Sam’s streams, and it would affect the money given to the company, but, their assumption was incorrect, and once Sam came out, they became a staple among the LGBT+ community.

Question Five: Going off the last question, do you think certain celebrities are treated better than others? 
Yes, but it takes time. For example, when Lady Gaga had her debut, she was somewhat tame, compared to her outgoing personality once she became a household name. Her management company realized the general public loved her, and let her go all out with her style and personality. Artists prove to the management company that they can keep an audience intrigued and focused on their music, and they loosen the reigns. 

Question Six: Paparazzi can get a lot sometimes, what are some laws that are intact? 
Sometimes the paparazzi and management companies work together for promotional purposes. The management company sets up a time and place for the paparazzi to take photos of the celebrity, and sell them to media sites like Clevver news. The paparazzi get money, and the management gets free promotion.  

Question Seven: Going off the last question, do you think there should be more laws for paparazzi? 
I do think there should be more strict laws put in LA law. No photo taken by paparazzi is illegal, unless it is taken on private property (For example, a hospital). Taking photos of a celebrity outside their home is completely legal in both LA and London, I believe safety should be the laws number one priority, but it isn’t signed into law.
