In this interview, I spoke with Ria about how you can use makeup to express yourself & lgbt+ representation in the media!Question One: What’s your name, age, and favorite food?
My name is Ria, I’m 14, and my favorite food is either garlic bread, spaghetti, or clam chowder. Question Two: What’s your sexuality and preferred pronouns? I’m pansexual and my preferred pronouns are she/her as well as they/them! Question Three: What’s your stance on lgbtq+ representation in the media? Do we need more or less? I believe that we have a lot of ‘fake’ LGBTQ+ representation, (ex, celebrities saying they’re trans/bi etc., yet doing nothing to advocate for it, or explain it) but we could use a lot more real LGBTQ+ representation, especially in mainstream media! There aren’t enough celebrities that are openly LGBTQ+! Question Four: Do you use makeup as a way to express yourself? If so, why? I often use makeup to express myself. I have done vent makeup before and depending on my mood, I will do different eyeshadow looks. I often do makeup when I get bored as well. Questions Five: What is your go to makeup look? My go to makeup look is probably a red fading out to black winged eyeshadow look, with a bright white shimmery color in the inner corner, and red on my lower lid. I always do strong contour and highlights as well, and I also always wing my eyeliner. Question Six: Do you think people need to wear makeup? I don’t believe that people NEED to wear makeup. If you want to, then go for it, you’ll look gorgeous either way, whatever floats your boat! Question Seven: Lastly, what’s your favorite makeup look you’ve ever done? My favorite makeup look I’ve ever done could be the one I did on Christmas of 2019, a red and green one I did in April-May of 2019, or a pink and blue one I did for a Melanie Martinez concert in October of 2019!
